Single-flight SP remainder after tier upgrade?

Let's say you're 100SP away from a tier upgrade (specifically, G to E).

You book (and travel on) a flight that earns you 250SP.

When you land, you've attained your new tier, but the earning flight has those extra 150SP above what you needed for your tier upgrade. Do those SP vanish? Or are they credited to your yearlong requalification period for that tier?

Cheers for any insight.
