All US majors are going in the opposite direction when it comes to aircraft acquisitions/operations. They are shedding 747's as fast as possible in favor of 777 sized aircraft and smaller. Passengers enjoy frequency over size and if Delta did purchase an aircraft like an A380, it would be a small fleet which wouldn't be economically viable. Don't see this happening anytime soon, if ever
