how to avoid paying hotel fees at the check-in desk

if i book hotels on expedia/agoda/etc., i can pay online in advance
but if i book spg/marriott/hitlon/etcs (those hotel website has no prepaid reservation), i cannot pay online in advance and i have to pay when i check-in, how can i avoid that and pay online in advance
