As mentioned above, they'll serve you dinner after take-off and breakfast before arrival (despite it being 1600h in Singapore as you have pointed out.)

I've never flown the 747 so can't comment, but general consensus is that upper deck is best! Flown the A380 once (upper deck) and would avoid first and last rows of both cabins because noise from toilets/galley are more noticeable since the aircraft is quieter. Window/middle seats should be avoided if you are less mobile as you'll have to climb over someone else's feet.
