I was not blown away by this place, although I enjoyed it. The view and the location are stunning, but that is the major attraction. Honestly, the fireplace and balcony were nice additions, and I thought the extra types of bath products beyond a standard soap/shampoo mix was neat, but the property itself was kind of in need of a refresh. I found the 12pm checkout a bit rough (I know its a resort but come on). No water or anything in the room at check in is a bit silly...they bring water at turn down. Why? Just leave 2 bottles when you clean the room. The TV service was terrible...snowy and static filled like it was on a pair of rabbit ears. If I can get razor sharp digital service in a room in Cambodia, there is no excuse for that. The rooms are super noisy...you can hear every bit of tromping up the stairs in the surrounding rooms, the gates opening and closing, dogs barking, etc. I also DETEST when they knock on my door when I have the do not disturb up just to ask for turn down service. That is a major major pet peeve of mine, and is a total low class hotel type move. If that sign is up, I expect you to leave me dead in there if necessary until I check out. The staff were nice enough but no one actually seemed to really be invested in service, and the front desk staff all seemed kind of unpolished. Tony at breakfast was very good as mentioned though, and the breakfast was very good and I did enjoy the provided binoculars in the room. Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but honestly for rates of 500+, I would be highly dissatisfied.
