Beverages

Champagnes & Wines

Champagne

2004 Dom Perignon
Named after Dom Pierre Perignon (1638-1715), the monk and winemaker at the Benedictine Abbey of Hautvilliers near Epernay, who is credited with having īnvented" Champagne. Moet et Chandon's Cuvee Dom Perignon is the most iconic of all Champagnes. Always a vintage wine from 100% Grand Cru vineyards, pale gold in colour with aromas of fresh almonds and white summer fruits, both caressing and precise on the palate. It finishes with an expression of utmost elegance.

Krug Grande Cuvee
Founded in Reims in 1843, the House of Krug is now managed by the 5th and 6th generations of the Krug family. Rigorous selection and care go into every detail of the "multi-vintage" Grande Cuvee, which offers a magical combination of aromatic complexity, power and finesse with a long, lingering finish. Krug is the ultimate experience in Champagne.

White Wine

2013 Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand
Dog Point achieved immediately cult status when first released in 2004. This was not surprising given the pedigree and experience of the founding partners. Viticulturist Ivan Sutherland and oenologist James Heally, both had held key roles at Cloudy Bay for over a decade before beginning their Dog Point collaboration. Dog Point is Estate grown and boasts some of the regions finest vineyard sites.

2008 Domaine William Fevre Montmains, Chablis Premier Cru, France
One of France's most famous wine regions, Chablis produces the most classic white Burgundies from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown on a chalky soil that brings a floral raciness to the wine. The 98 hectare Premier Cru Montmains is well-situated on the left bank of the river Serein to produce wines with a distinctive elegance and length of flavour, particularly in an excellant vintage like 2008.

Red Wine

2004 Chateau Leoville-Poyferre Saint-Julien, Bordeaux, France
This splendid estate covering 80 hectares of vines in the best part of the Medoc, was named as a Second Growth in the famous classification of the best Bordeaux wines in 1855 and has retained this high status ever since. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are harvested at their peak of ripeness to make this classic "Bordeaux Blend". Deep carmine-ruby in colour, with fragrantly intense aromas of red and black berries, the rich concentration of fruit on the palate is balanced by an elegantly firm finish. It is eminently suited to white and red meats and of course perfect with cheese.

2012 Teusner Albert Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia
Teusner is an exciting partnership between winemaker Kym Teusner and Michael Page the cornerstone of which is their reverence for low yielding, old, dry grown Barossa vines. These old vines produce Shiraz of great flavour, intensity and softness. This is a contemporary style from the internationally acclaimed Barossa Valley.

2009 Louis Latour Chateau Corton Grancey Grand Cru, Cote de Beaune, France
2009 was an exceptional vintage in Burgundy with a warm and sunny growing season that resulted in ripe and rich grapes. This wine has a bouquet of red summer fruits with autumnal tones and a touch of black cherry spice, smooth, almost velvety texture on the palate, lovely length of fruit that is robust and elegant on the finish. This flagship wine of Louis Latour has great aging potential.

Sweet Wine

2009 Chateau Filhot Sauternes
With south-west facing vines surrounding one of the most impressive 18th century Bordeaux Chateaux, Filhot was classified a top Second Growth in 1855 and subsequent generations of the Comte de Vaucelles family have maintained the reputation. Bright yellow-gold with floral aromas that contain white summer fruits, honey and a touch of citrus, the rich sweetness on the palate is lifted by natural acidity to give beautiful length and balance.

Port

Taylor's Twenty-Year Old Tawny Port, Douro, Portugal
Matured in oak casks known as "pipes" for a minimum of 20 years, this is a blend of six grape varieties which are indigenous to the high, heat-baked vineyards of Portugal's Upper Douro Valley. Over time the colour turns from dense purple-red through carmine to orange-tawny, the fruit retaining its rich, raisiny concentration and refining into a nutty, spicy, honeyed finish, a taste to linger over. Taylor's was established in 1692 and remains the most famous name in Port.
