retention offers on this card are seriously underwhelming. They offered me nothing on first call. Spent around $20k last year. I asked if there were any offers. I was told no by front line rep.
I called 2nd time today and got a friendly rep. She didn't have the ability to look up retention offers so transfered me to another rep, Josh. He offered me 500 points plus 1000 points upon $1k in 60 days. Took it.
I am eventually going to cancel the personal card as I don't see value in the SPG program for upscale stays. SPG biz card is probably worth having. I will keep the card in the meantime while I acquire other amex cards. I like this card for the amex offers. I must have saved over $200 using all the offers.
