Having flown yesterday into UIP on business, I think your division is more than a little arbitrary. The third category is "friends and family" so the French travellers on board this service were either business travellers returning from London and/or going to visit relatives.

GRX and PMI are both reasonably large cities, over 0.5 million, so they do attract business travellers such as myself.

I live rather further from LCY than you, and I'm pleased it offers some good places to go to, in many cases BA is the only airline going there.

The logic behind this is to keep the LCY jets flying, so many of these routes depart around 11 hrs (my UIP was 11:30 hrs), having spent the morning on the EDI and AMS services, go off with "the tourists", return mid afternoon in time for the evening services.
