That's why we are called guests and not tenants. It's their property and to a very large degree their rules (barring any laws). They could very well say everyone must vacate their rooms between 10am and 3pm. It would be a very special circumstance before I'd book a room at a place with such a rule, but if it's known before hand, I'd have to live with it. I'm sure buried somewhere in their reservation T&Cs, access is granted at their discretion, if not explicitly, implicitly.
