To me this park is similar to cage diving with sharks, for many people that is the closest they will get to a shark but it is not a natural encounter in any way. I don't see any direct benefit from either of these activities other than a small educational factor but they are not illegal and generate income and create jobs in a country that is desperate for both.

Lions that are not raised in the wild and don't kill their own food are always prone to attack for no reason. I have been to a reserve that rehabilitates lions that were rescued from a canned hunt operation and the rules there were the same. Lions raised in the wild don't tend to associate us with food and only attack what they regard as prey or to protect themselves.

I personally wouldn't support any operation that raises or uses wild animals for entertainment but if I did I wouldn't swim outside the shark cage or drive around with my window down in a lion park.
