Does United hold economy and only sell First?

Hi All,

I have been looking for a while for a flight for this Christmas to Jamaica. Flight 1400 out of Houston is what we want.

But every flight from Dec 21-25 ( I didn't look any farther ) Shows availability as

Available Cabins: J9, JN9, C9, D9, Z0, ZN0, P0, PN0, R0, RN0, IN0, I0, Y0, YN0, B0, M0, E0, U0, H0, HN0, Q0, V0, W0, S0, T0, L0, K0, G0, N0, XN0, X0

But the seat map shows economy has about 100 seats free. The number booked seats range from 10-22.

Is it really possible that they have sold out the flight on all 4 days and that 400 some people just haven't gone online and picked a seat? Maybe some kind of charter group?

Remember this is still 6 months out.

Schedule wise United has the best flight from our home airport, PNS, but I just can't see paying $2200 for a first class flight that is 3 hours long. Or using 140K miles for a standard first award.
