Carry both. As late as this year, I've faced issues with the titanium card at an Apple store (would't work ie. would swallow the card but not recognize it) and at another merchant. Hence have to carry plastic as back-up.

Winetemplar! I've also had the occasional issue with the titanium card, that's why I don't carry it anymore at all. Apart from the "coolness" factor (which lasted only a few months for me), it is useless.
