The difference is that spa villas, instead of a private pool, have a spa area with massage tables. If you book a spa villa, you get complimentary daily treatments (I believe it's a 90 minute treatment per person, though not 100% sure).

We opted to take the private pool and book some spa treatments separately (which were great, and the spa itself is beautiful).
