Travellers cheques give the best rates - assuming you can buy them with no fee. Easy to cash at the airport currency counter. Elsewhere, only at selected banks and takes 10-20 minutes. Typically I cash what I need for the whole trip at the airport.

Travelex gives terrible rates (cash or T/C). Stick with bank operated counters, including at the airport.
