Long ways to run in FRA (both for the plane taxiing to the gates as well as for the pax), passport control can be very crowded and slow... A tiny delay can screw up the plan.
When a connection can be missed by 1 minute, 15 minutes may be critical. 15 minutes is especially important if the inbound flight is late.

OP, by all means sit by the aircraft door, be the first one off, and run to passport control and then from there to the connecting gate. If you are of EU or US citizenship, the connection may be possible. If you traveling on a passport from a 2nd/3rd world country, it is far less likely.
