I'm flying coach on an AA award ticket to Easter Island from Lima next year. Apparently you can't get the seat assignment until 48 hours before flight, at least that's what Lan Chile reservation agent just told me -- does that sound right?

Also, I believe I read something on the board about 3 classes flying as 2 from Santiago to Easter Island. Can anyone offer suggestions on how to go about getting the better coach seats (and also what I should try to get)?
