I am interested in traveling to HAV in a few months and in looking at Mexicana's website, it is indicated that for 35,000 miles, one can redeem a ticket from the USA to the Caribbean and Central America, including HAV.

I know that to book a regular paid flight from Mexico to HAV, one must call the local Mexicana reservations number in Mexico to book the flight and to pay for the ticket there as well. I have previously booked a roundtrip MEX-HAV-MEX (30,000 miles) using Frecuenta miles, but seeing that their website indicates that a USA to HAV award can be redeemed for 35,000 miles is intriguing to me. If I can do this, then I would book an LAX-MEX-HAV-MEX-LAX routing for the award. Is anyone out there experienced in this type of redemption of miles?
