Just be glad you arrived back when you did.
I was on the Milan flight coming back, it was delayed a little and arrived around 23:15, at satellite B. I walked, and completely beat my flight to the border. Border had a bigger queue than I've ever seen. Maybe I've just been lucky? It was all the way to the main central area (you know where the corridor turns to go into UK border) and it was a mass of people there trying to feed into the EU/UK passport queue (although, it was hard to ascertain whether people wanted EU/UK or international, since it was just a mass of people standing there).
After finally getting past the border I was sure my bag would be circling waiting for me, after all this time, right? Nope, another 15 minutes of waiting there. It seems Friday just wasn't T5's day.
