I just wanted to post an experience update:
Flew in from Larnaca, Cyprus yesterday on a points ticket. Did online check-in minutes after it opened and was automatically assigned an Economy Plus seat, I'm assuming thanks to having the Premium card.

The flight was completely full and besides the Premium card, no status with El Al besides 100 points earned from paid flights and a number from credit card points.
