As the prices are similar (Hertz is actually 5% cheaper compared to Alamo) could you please give me some guidance for which company I should go for?
Are there big differences with regards to fleet, service, possible upgrade, etc.?
I will pickup the car downtown and return to YUL 2 weeks later.
Thanks for your help!

If you are going to rent a SUV from a small downtown location, you should call them at least 24 hours in advance so they keep you a SUV. If you don't call and they give their SUV to someone else, you might get downgraded (and you'll have to bargain the price) OR, worse, you might get upgraded to a full-size SUV (which is not covered by credit card insurances - but they won't tell you that).
If I were you, I would make a reservation for both locations.
