A brainstorm....What if Southwest were to be coerced into TOL? They are notorious/famous for striking deals with "out of the way" airports, i.e. Islip.

They offer a great route system, low fares, etc. However, they do have a fairly large presence at DTW, albeit in the dingy old terminal.

The key would be to offer service to cities that already are not served to avoid duplicating routes, and access to good connections/direct flights to other cities that people WANT to get to; good bets would be Nashville, Midway, Baltimore, Tampa, St. Louis....

Has Toledo ever tried to lure Southwest?
