I have a fair few of both 2 to 1 adapters and 1 to 2 adapters. They tend to come in the earbud packs on US domestic flights since quite a few airlines use both systems on various planes. Some airlines have a standardized 2 plug earbud set, some have a standardized 1 plug set.
