I know that this topic has been touched upon before, but I would be grateful for hotel recommendations in Dubai. I know that the Burj al Arab is head and shoulders above anything else in the UAE (and possibly the world!) and am planning a one night stay there. However, for the the remaining 5 nights of my stay I'm looking for slightly more reasonably priced accomodation. Requirements are 5 star hotel, close to a good beach, with a choice of restaurants. Design-wise, I'd prefer something reasonably tasteful and modern (rather than too chintzy and OTT). There seem to be a number of properties that match these crieteria. Recommendations gratefully received.
