My wife had not changed her name on her club carlson account after we got married. We finally just found a use for the points and want to book before the devaluation takes effect. She emailed club carlson to change the name, along a copy of the marriage license. We're not optimistic that they will make the change before May 31.

My question is this: If we book award nights in the next 2 days before her name change takes effect, will the award booking be canceled or will the booking reflect the name change when it's changed? Her US bank credit card and ID have her new last name. Should we just book regardless?

When we called club carlson, they wouldn't give a straight answer and said to email customer service for the name change. They wouldn't tell us what would happen to a pre-existing award booking and subsequent name change.
