The balance of our vaction is filled with the more popular tourist destinations, so unfortunately there's no time for Putuoshan. We chose Huangshan because we wanted something outdoors and pretty, and there were a lot of exhibitions of paintings of the Yellow Mountins in NY museums recently.
"lots of temples, hiking trails, and the like" is very appealing, though.
