I just checked flights for your proposed dates and didn't encounter any problems. It's too early to get discounts though.

I'm reposting my instructions on how to use ctrip if you don't read Chinese here:

1) goto www.ctrip.com
2) right-click; select encoding--> "Chinese Simplified"
3) click on the airplane tab
4) enter the departure city (not airport code or airport name) in the box on the first line that allows for text entry
5) enter the arrival city in the same box on line #2
6) pick your dates using the calender pop-ups (you need to enter a dummy return unless you toggle the left-msot field on the second line)
7) if you want to check C/F availability/fares, you'll need to toggle the bottom field in the left-hand inset box on the results page


Oh, regarding HU, Hainan Airlines itself is okay, but a few of the carriers they merged with are absolutely dreadful (much worse than CZ or MU).
