I called MR and they indicated that the adjustment for a duplicate stay was made. On my account, the stay appears once as of April 12th (as a side note, I had to call MR to have them add these nights and points originally as the stay never did post in the 10-day period).
As of last week (May 21st), the negative adjustment appeared on my account to supposedly reverse the nights and points.
Normally, I would think if a hotel stay appeared twice on my account, then I would understand if an adjustment was made to remove the duplicate posting. However, as I am reviewing my account, I didn't see where the stay posted twice. When I brought this to the CSR's attention, she said the adjustment was made for a duplicate posting that showed on their side even though my MR account doesn't reflect a duplication.
Does this scenario make sense? Please advise.
Given CSRs see the back-end system, it may very well be how she says. However, it's been reported many times that CSRs will make up rules to fit what's happening and not really investigate an issue. I guess the real question is do the numbers support what's being said? I find quite often the account balances do not always match the transaction numbers shown (at least for a period of time). What are your account balances (nights/points) before the stay in March and now?
