Mistaken birthdate on passport (US)

My family and I are leaving for Japan in a week. I glanced at our passports today and realized my three year old's birthdate is mistakenly listed as the 25th instead of the 15th (month and year are correct). I worry that we used his correct birth date when reserving our tickets online (that secure flight thing). Should I be concerned about getting on our flight? I know I need to correct his passport eventually, but do not want to pay hundreds of dollars for an expedited courier and worry about unforeseen delays in doing this in such a short time span. I can't believe this is the first time we've noticed this in the two years he's had this passport. We've used it several times when crossing into Canada, but never on a flight. Not sure what we should do. Thanks for any advice!
