Returned yesterday from a 3-night stay at the IC Singapore. Had a very nice Shophouse suite (booked Shophouse Club room, upgraded as Gold Ambassador). The renovation noise in my room (#366) was not bothersome, while it was quite annoying in the Club lounge, e.g. during Tea time or if one has breakfast late. But as mentioned, before 9:00 or after 6:30 the work stopped.
What I found a bit strange is that 10 or so of the workers regularly populated the lounge for breakfast and at the end of the Happy Hour. They were always quite loud and given the slightly exaggerated dress code that the hotel is enforcing on their paying guest (e.g. no shorts and flip flops), I was a bit surprised to see the workers in their (dirty) working clothes to be admitted to the Club ...
Yeah they are there every night. Wouldn't say the dress code was so exaggerated, personally think its good some of the IC lounges are trying to up the standards away from T-shirts, cargo shorts and Havaiannas a little but yes tend to agree the attire of the guys is a little 'dressed down' . They certainly clear what's left of the buffet with impressive efficiency

Also heard from a very well positioned little birdie that as part of the renovation, the shophouse concept/style will be moving a good few floors up. I think you can expect to see 15 & 16 remodeled in that style over the coming year.
