I second Carfield's analysis. I personaly have a soft spot for TG economy because for me 2' extra legroom is worth all the IFE in the world (I'm 6'4). And the food and service are great.

In terms of FFP, you should go with TG Royal Orchid Plus. As you said it's 50k to get to gold and 50k to requalify in a year or 80k in two years. The nice things about the program are the upgrade voucher and the hotel redemption (Shangri-La anyone?)
