Asian Airlines Comparison
Hello Everyone:
As a frequent flyer on Cathay Pacific Airways, I do not experience much traveling on other airlines. I am thinking of starting to fly more on Asiana Airlines or Thai Airways as it seems easier to attain elite status on those respective airlines when compared to Cathay Pacific's requirement of 120,000 flown miles per YEAR, for top-tier status, while offering no mileage bonus and no lifetime membership scheme.
I fly frequently to HKG, BOM (via BKK), DXB, and the Philippines.
Asiana seems quite good at the fact that Diamond renewal is only 40,000 flown miles in 36 months, while Star Gold on Thai Airways is even easier at only 50,000 flown miles for one year, but a higher renewal requirement of 50,000 flown miles in 24 months. While Asiana allows offers lifetime membership, I was not able to see if the same applied for Thai Airways.
Can anyone compare the two airlines in terms of service and overall flight experience? Is Cathay Pacific vastly superior or are these airlines just as good?
Please feel free to compare other carriers if you wish. I have never flown on Malaysia, Singapore, or China Airlines, but I have heard good things about all carriers. It would be interesting to see someone rank carriers in the Star or oneworld alliances.
Thanking you in advance,
around the world
