OP here .... My out-of-pocket expenses for having to wait 16 hours for my bag were $50 for a one way rental car (the delay at baggage claim caused me to miss the bus) and $5 for the tip to the third party bag delivery driver. I put in for $55 and was given an e-cert for future travel on Delta. Delta will only give you cash if you had to buy a new tooth brush or clean undies.
