LAX and YVR always have the Transcontinental flights ~ 300 more than the other flights, as expected.

Seems a little odd to me.
Although both of you seem be right - The crazy thing is this . . There is a JEX fare at around $4,200 but it is not valid from May-Sep on AC737 or AC738. Thus- If you end up in Full-J and want either of those flights - you pay $7,267 one way.

Now when you get down to the very very bottom of fare lists - there are always fares like this. However - you should never end up in this situation. The fact that this fare is still published, however, is a bit of a head-scratcher - - or perhaps it would be more of a head-scratcher that anyone actually accepts that fare offer.

(Later edit - - I see that YXX Flyer has mentioned some of this. It does seem that the surcharge was entered incorrectly for this routing. Also - this is only for the "J" - some further analysis shows that based on the current published fares - if you want to fly AC737 or AC738, and you don't have any significant advance purchase - then you can get a Z-Class fare for around 4500 round trip or you can get the Full-J at >7,000 each way. - - So - it is completely likely that you could request this flight for tomorrow and not get any fare except for >$7,000). Crazy
