I am more pro Mayfair for location but agree with the rest of it!

Absolutely discard New Providence for distance and Hampshire / Berkshire for tourist hell-hole reasons (although both are excellent for KFC which says it all). Mercer is a nice spot near Covent Garden. Can't comment on the other two but Bloomsbury has little very close except the British Museum.
