That's the same message they have given me for the last several Citi cards, so I assume $2000 in their base CL after you reach a certain level with them. Instantly approved after moving the credit around!
If they are only offering you $2K, you are so very close to the max they are willing to give you, and you will certainly have to call Recon for every app. There is even a danger that you eventually get to the point where they won't even let you move CL for a new card.
I'd suggest you look at the cards you have open, and see if you have CLs beyond what you would ever use in a month. If so, drop those down to whatever level you expect to actually use. If you are like me, you have several cards where a CL of $2K is more than enough. Just keep a little extra on a card or two for unexpected emergency spend, and in case you need to move some CL for a new card. Reduce the others and not only will you start to get instant approvals again, you will get much higher CLs on those new cards. Which you will need to reduce again to stay under your max level.
