But you will likely all sit together ... on bad seats but together.

On UA miles no identical problem will arise as the flights will be booked with LH and OS flight numbers. You will still have a hard time with paying for the ASR.

Why not fly UA on all longhauls? Bring something edible along then it is not all that terrible.
