If the crew stays with the plane and the power doesn't come back on, the crew still times out. Then the flight would be forced into an overnight delay.
This way, the flight is delayed 13 hours. It's a gamble. Today it didn't pay off. Either way, damned if you do, damned if you don't.
An alternative which has happened before. Fly the plane to NFLD, swap crews and continue. If crews are available that is.
