You are definitely SOL once you have gone past the expiration date. If they opened up that can of words, unused credits/tickets would come out of the woodwork. Asking for a blanket extension rarely works. If you have a "plan" that they can document and say "this is it, use it or lose it" is always a better way to proceed.
