True, but if they have nowhere to fly to, then what's the point of that 25% difference?
What I mean by that: if they have 200 pilots in the Bases de Province but Air France only flies to CDG and a couple of ORY flights from those cities for which they need maybe 60 pilots, what are the 200 pilots going to do? Do "normal" CDG flights? Where the time commuting to CDG will count as work time, eating up any productivity advantage they may have.
This case is the perfect illustration why as a French company you should be extremely wary to try out an initiative and hire people for it. When you find out that you need to change your business strategy, you can't get rid of the people anymore.
