If you are going to travel C class try not to do it on AC ( even codeshare) as you do not get the COS bonus. If you fly D on LH ( same as C on AC) you get 25% COS bonus which counts towards your status. You could get C to LHR and then fly to CPH or wherever on a different carrier. But C tickets are only occasionally offered by AC-- sometimes to Italy. LH may have some discounted D tickets.
