I was able to charge my iphone briefly via my adaptor (the kind that can plus 4 USB components in). I tried to charge my ipad and it won't work. Neither would my macbook.

Called the flight attendant, she said I need a world plug. I don't know what it is, and she borrowed one from her colleague, and after stuffing my bag underneath to stabilize it, I was able to charge my macbook (but this was serious work, like the angle must be a certain way), and i took that opportunity to charge my ipad via laptop. She KEPT SAYING that my iphone/ipad cable (lightening cable) was broken, it was NOT! Otherwise I couldn't charge my iphone/ipad via my laptop.

What exactly do i need to get my electronics charged? special adaptor?
The USB adaoptor thats on my seat does not work on my ipad at all.
