Question about companion pass
Sorry if this has been answered before...
But I have a question regarding the companion pass. I understand that you are able to add a companion at any time but my question is in regards to the main issuer of the companion pass being added onto a paid ticket by the companion.
In essence, my girlfriend has the companion pass. For her birthday I am planning on taking her to Chicago cuz I got reservations for Alinea and then to New York for reservations at Eleven Madison Park. I can book the tickets using my other airline miles but the redemption rate doesn't make much sense for me to burn them. However, I noticed that southwest had great prices for the wanna get away fare. If I were to buy a ticket now, would she be able to tack herself on to my paid ticket so that she can fly for free. Or would I have to have her get the ticket (since she is the holder for the companion pass) and then have her add me on (I am the companion that was assigned) ?
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
