I clicked on the 2x double promo two weeks ago when I realised that last week's stay may be the highest value for this year. I had made the booking about 6 weeks ago. So it was interesting that I was able to get that promo into "action" simply by registering for it just prior to my stay (but quite awhile after booking).
The earning rate that I'm seeing elsewhere is 20 points per €10 as a classic (for non-Ibis/budget properties), 30 as silver, 35 as gold and 40 with platinum. Where do you see the earning rates that you mentioned?
