I have about 300k MR pounts and 100k/yr spend. I'd like to take a vacation sometime next year so I may have up to 400k to spend. The target destinations are maldives, seychelles, or france/Italy for 10-14 days. I'm very much a newb at leveraging points. my strategy used to be to just use one card and hoard the pounts.

I'm wondering what the best strategy is to use these points and also if there are any good strategies for accumulating new points and which cards I should acquire. Should I try to get a retention bonus from AMex? I'd like to travel business class at least.

I'm also open to other suggestions for destinations that might be interesting and a good value, especially the South Pacific and Europe.
