I fly rather frequently out of MXP to LHR, and I wouldn't entirely agree with this description. The AZ lounge at MXP Terminal B usually only seems to have nuts and snacky dried-type food, biscuits etc. Some of the time you'll get a plate of cold pizza pieces, but I wouldn't describe it as a 'more substantial meal'. I don't fly from Linate, so I can't comment on that lounge.
