My recent I->D connection in DFW wasn't so straightforward as in the past due to confusing changes. The Global Entry machines had a diagram that showed how to insert the passport, plus it had a video that showed how to insert it, but the 2 were giving opposite instructions. Neither way worked. The guy manning the machines seemed to be already aware that some machines weren't working reliably, and was apathetic to the conflicting directions.
The exit line for customs was also confusing. There's a path marked for global entry, but then on that path there's a sign that tries to split the queue into 2. One was marked for US Citizens & crew/diplomats (empty), and the other was for Global Entry (many waiting). Either there's lots of non-citizens with Global Entry, or people only read the first half of the sign. I went for the short line and was processed without complaint after he handled 2 people from the longer line.
