So if its 100K to fly to India is it for return or one way? Also if I have 30K points and it cost 100K I can pay the difference with my own money right?

Sorry for all these questions Im still trying to figure this out.
You cannot use a travel agent to book Aeroplan tickets, no.

No, unfortunately Aeroplan booking is all-or-nothing. If you are just a bit short (ie, you have 30,000 Aeroplan miles and you need 40,000) they will let you buy the few that you are short.

This would cost you about $650 altogether, for the one-way trip, and then you would have to pay for a one-way ticket home but since you can buy a round-trip ticket from Toronto to Hyderabad for about $900, and a one-way ticket costs almost the same amount, using points this way is not a very good deal.

Best advice would be to buy the ticket with cash, and use your Aeroplan points another time, for a shorter trip.

Please don't be rude, this person is asking for help. Many people, like OP, earn Aeroplan points automatically on a credit card, and the award system takes some time to learn.
