You could always just take the T to the nearest Cambridge stop:http://www.mbta.com/traveling_t/schedules_subway.asp#

I'm pretty certain you'd be able to pick up a cab from the nearest T stop. Where in Cambridge are you going? It might be cheaper to get off at Back Bay and take a cab from there.
