According to the Amtrak California timetable, the 45-day 10-ride ticket MAY BE USED by various people, including several people taking the same train (3 of the 10 available trips, for example, would be punched by the conductor if 3 people travelled together).

However, the monthly pass is personal to the purchaser and is NOT TRANSFERABLE.
