Personally I don't love 1CD as there are no windows on either side (just closets), so they do feel kind of enclosed. Certainly if your priority is being able to have a window they are probably the worst option. The other center pairs have at least a vague sightline to a window but 1CD really don't.
Yeah, definite no-go for row 1 in that case...she's as much of an AV geek as I am, so enjoys being able to look out and see wingtips, other planes, etc....especially during takeoff and landing.
She just about lost it when she discovered the tailcam on our first A380 flight.
